Por unanimidade, a 2ª Câmara Criminal do Tribunal de Justiça do Maranhão (TJMA) recebeu, nesta quinta-feira, 27, denúncia do Ministério Público estadual (MPE) contra a prefeita de Paço do Lumiar, Bia Venâncio, por suposta contratação irregular de cerca de três mil servidores. O desembargador Raimundo Nonato de Souza – com vista dos autos – acompanhou o voto da relatora, desembargadora Maria dos Remédios Buna, pelo recebimento da denúncia para instauração de ação penal, mas sem necessidade de afastamento da prefeita do cargo. O desembargador Bernardo Rodrigues já havia votado de acordo com a relatora e com o parecer da Procuradoria Geral de Justiça, na sessão do dia 13 passado.
A denúncia do Ministério Público sustentou que, depois de assumir o cargo em 2 de janeiro de 2009, a prefeita decretou estado de emergência no município e deu início à contratação de servidores sem concurso público, contra o que determina a Constituição Federal. Constatou ter sido sancionada lei municipal prevendo duração máxima de um ano para a contratação temporária, o que não teria sido observado, pois alegou que muitos dos servidores tiveram seus contratos renovados.
Argumentou, ainda, que a prefeita teria contratado parentes seus e de vereadores da base aliada, além de ter se negado a responder a vários ofícios encaminhados pela Promotoria de Justiça da comarca.
