O candidato do PTC, Edivaldo Holanda Júnior, foi eleito prefeito de São Luís neste domingo (28). Ele venceu João Castelo (PSDB) no segundo turno da eleição municipal, e deve assumir o cargo no ano de 2013.
Ele havia sido o primeiro colocado no primeiro turno do pleito, e manteve a vantagem sobre o adversário, obtendo a maioria dos votos válidos.
Segundo o Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE), com 94% das urnas apuradas, Edivaldo Holanda Júnior recebeu 56,03% dos votos, ou 264.027 eleitores. João Castelo, por sua vez, recebeu 211.010 votos, totalizando 43,85%.
